Financials Experience And Rating Out Of 10
SUPPLY CHAIN EXPERIENCE
Experience Summary:
- My experience in Distribution is versatile as follows:
- Unlike most consultants who tend to focus on narrow areas, what makes me unique is that I understand the procure to pay and order to cash streams very well.
- The reason for this is because having worked as a “power user” in a distribution company that had JD Edwards, for two years, initially in my career, and having been primarily responsible for the order to cash stream, I have a very strong foundation in supply chain being able to relate to real life operations of a warehouse.
- In total I have about 6 years of experience in Purchasing and Inventory in about 12 projects, which is predominantly in implementations and production support roles
- In total I have about and 4 years experience in Sales Orders in about 5 projects predominantly in support and integration with financial roles, which includes 2 years of strong foundation having been a power user responsible for the entire order to cash stream.
- Cleaned up inventory integrities and reconciled inventory to G/L approximately 4 times

MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE
Experience Summary:
- In a nut shell I like to say that I am NOT a manufacturing consultant
- But having worked for about 9 manufacturing companies in with the financial and distribution modules and having been trained and worked with Product Costing, which is the bridge between Financials and Manufacturing, I have a very good understanding of the Manufacturing industry.
- I can have an intelligent conversation with a manufacturing consultant because the following terminologies make sense to me: S&OP planning, Rough Cut Capacity Planning, MRP, Direct Costs, Over and Under Absorption of Overheads, Bills of Material, Cost Roll Up, Work centre, Routing, Back Flush and Super Back Flush, DMAAI & Variances
- While I am not confident to be a manufacturing lead, the hall mark of an ERP is that ever thing is connected and all roads finally lead to financials. Because of my manufacturing industry experience I am confident that I can be vey valuable as a financial lead or a project manager for a manufacturing company

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
- I have approximately 3 years of experience in the property management Industry, working for the following companies:
- Westfield Group- World’s largest listed retail property group by equity market capitalisation
- Collaborate 2009–Oracle User Conference – Net change training and preparation for a project
- GRT (Consulting company- performed training)
- Hines Real Estate-
- CBRE-
- Morguard Investments Ltd-
- ProFac
- While I have not built the module from scratch please see below my experience which has given me a very good understanding of the property management industry.
- I rate my self 8/10 on the property management module. What this means is that I have a very strong understanding of how the core of the module works and I am confident that I can implement the module. The only area that I will be finding it difficult would be the “odd curve ball” which is beyond the standard functionality.
- The reason why I am confident that I can implement the property management module is because the core functionality in property management (beside defining the lease master) such as setting up a property, tenant, billing cycle, security deposits, defining AAI’s , collection etc are based on the Financial Modules. I have approximately 14 years experience in the JD Edwards financial modules in about 30 assignments.
DETAIL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
6) Westfield Group - April – Oct 2009
(World’s largest listed retail property group by equity market capitalization.)
- Proof of concept to migrate Real Estate Module from Enterprise One 8.11 to version 9.0
- Analyzed if all the modifications made in 8.11 can be replaced with new functionality available in version 9.0
- Migration of Job Cost and Sub-Contract management from XE to version 8.11
Relevance:
- Since 9.0 had numerous enhancements for the Expense Participation program, have a very thorough understanding of Expense Participation program.
- Good understanding of the Real Estate Construction operation
Reference:
Please double click on the documents below to view the reference letters pertaining to this engagement
REFERENCE LETTER FROM DELOITTE | EVIDENCE OF VERBAL REFERENCE FROM WESTFIELD |
5) GRT- Property Management Training - Dec 2005
- Conducted training on the property management module in December 2005:
Relevance:
- The rule of thumb about training is that it edifies the trainer more than the trainee, as the trainer has to understand the concepts very clearly
- Having taught the property management module I have a very strong understanding of the fundamentals of the PM module.
4) CBRE - Oct 2005
- Short term assignment to fix integrity issues.
Relevance:
Good exposure to the integration between a the Financials and the property management module as a result of trouble shooting issues
3) Hines Real Estate - Sep – Oct 2005 :
- Analyzed current state of the REIT operation and Sarbanes Oxley compliant workflows
- Conducted current state workshop for A/P.
Relevance:
- A very good understanding of the current state process flows of a complex property management operation.
- An in depth understanding of Sarbanes Oxley compliant risk and control work flows
- Learned about a REIT structure and complex inter-property dealings
2) Morguard Investments Ltd - May 2003 to Mar 2004:
- Helped in the conversion of data from REMS to JD Edwards for all property management modules and set up all report versions for a new division acquired.
Relevance:
- Before I could understand as to how the tables were converted I had to understand as to what each field in the files for leases, properties, billing etc means and what it is used for
- In order to set up reports which are the culmination of a given process, I had to understand the whole property management process and also get an understanding of the fields that are relevant for the report.
- Analyzed the expense participation reporting process in order to make the budgeting process efficient.
Relevance:
- In order to do this task I had to analyze the entire expense participation process in JD Edwards and establish as to why we cannot use JD Edwards for detail forecasting and budgeting purposes and established an alternative process in Excel so that budgets can be uploaded to JD Edwards efficiently.
- Project Leader to design and create consolidation with elimination entries for Morguard Corp. & coded reports in FASTR for a new division acquired
Relevance:
- Financial reports & corporate consolidations are the culmination of the entire property management operation in a company. Having been involved in this process has given a very solid understanding of the “big picture” of the property management industry.
1) ProFac - Dec 2001 – Aug 2002
- Project Leader to re-design and stream line chart of accounts common to 7 divisions, and analyzed the procure to pay and order cash process. Report writing in XE
Relevance:
- In order to perform this task I had to understand the lease/contract of 7 different divisions. This gave very valuable insight into how contracts are defined for each Facility
- Analyzing the procure to pay & order to cash process and writing reports has given me a very through under standing as to how every thing comes together in a property management company.
JOB COST EXPERIENCE
- My experience in job cost is multi dimensional as follows:
- Implemented the module from scratch for a 3 Billion Dollar Company
- Introduced the concept of testing the process as opposed to functionality, to the client, during upgrading to 8.11, Achieved this by creating process flows connected to scripts and providing a visual guide of the integration of Job Cost with Contract, Service and Equipment Billing & Change Management.
- Performed a proof of concept
- Assisted to do due diligence by researching the new functionalities in version 8.12 and 9.0 in EnterpriseOne and was part of a two member team that implemented Job Cost and Sub Contract management.
- I rate my self 8/10 to implement Job Cost. The reason why I rate my self 8/10 in Job Cost is because, in addition to the above mentioned experience, the primary function in Job Cost is to build a chart of accounts, an exercise that I have done about 5 times. Plus since the approximately 30 projects that I have been in, related to upgrades, production support, report writing culminate in the chart of accounts, this has enabled me to learn from other people’s mistake as to what a chart should not be.
- One of the hallmark of JD Edwards is that every thing is integrated so much so that the Job Cost modules has integration points with numerous modules. The value add I bring to the table is that I understand the integration of Job Cost with the various modules. Please see below my skill rating out of 10 for the following modules that integrate with Job Cost (The ratings could be subjective since they are self evaluations and does not imply that I have all the answers on my finger tips for modules with high ratings. The intent of the rating is to reflect the confidence level to implement a module and to define expectations)
- Job Cost 8/10
- G/L- 9/10
- Budgeting 9/10
- Purchasing- 9/10
- Fixed Assets 9/10
- Multi-currency- 9/10
- A/P 9/10
- Contract and Service Billing – 5/10
- Change Management 4/10
